Board of Students' Development

The Board of Students’ Development(BSD) looks after the protection of rights and supervises the Development activities of the students. BSD tries to nurture students' mental, physical, cultural growth with various activities to improve their overall personality development and to make them civilized Indian citizens to compete in the globalized world.

1. Earn and Learn Scheme: This scheme is basically undertaken for the benefit of students who are economically backward, intelligent and meritorious but cannot afford higher education, needy and financially hard pressed. The students enrolled under the scheme are given work that increase their skills in areas of their study, office work, technical work and field work.

2. Nirbhay Kanya Abhiyan: The main objective of this scheme is to develop a critical mind, self-confidence and a commitment to society. The students are given training in health, law, and social activities. They are also given training in self-employment and all possible other activities that enhance her social confidence. The main objectives of this scheme includes development of self-confidence how to defend oneself in any situation, training in self-defense and finally make them fearless and be ready to face any unwanted situation.

3. Youth Festival: Savitribai Phule Pune University organizes Youth Festival every year. Students actively participate in various competitions like dance, drama, singing, drawing etc.

4. Swatchha Bharat Abhiyan: To fulfill the dream expressed by the President of India His Excellency Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam a massive movement to involve the entire student community in a constructive manner in nation building activities. Under this abhiyan college organizes cleanliness drives in and around the college campus and make students contribute and aware about the importance of cleanliness.

5. Disaster Management Scheme: Here the students are trained to handle emergency situations like fire, floods, earth-quakes etc.

6. Anti-ragging cell: We have anti-ragging cell in our college to prohibit any conduct by any student or students whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student, or indulging in rowdy or indiscipline activities by any student or students which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in any fresher or any other student or asking any student to do any act which such student will not in the ordinary course do and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame, or torment or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of such fresher or any other student, with or without an intent to derive a sadistic pleasure or showing off power, authority or superiority by a student over any fresher or any other student; and thereby, to eliminate ragging in all its forms from universities, deemed universities and other higher educational institutions in the country by prohibiting it under these Regulations, preventing its occurrence and punishing those who indulge in ragging as provided for in these Regulations and the appropriate law in force. No such case is found till date. Every year at the time of central audit by Savitribai Phule Pune University, the detailed report of all the actions and proceeds of the same is submitted.
